Some images just speak to you....

Do you ever have some images that just SPEAK to you??? For some reason these just did....and still do! I'm sure it had absolutely everything to do with her being incredibly adorable and quite the natural in front of the camera. But anyways I'm just lovin' these......A LOT!

He's Gone...

I feel like I'm singing a Hall and Oates song......

Well, my oldest left today for Indiana to be with his grandparents for TWO WHOLE WEEKS!!! Goodness, it already feels like he's been gone forever! Poor little Eli was so upset about him leaving. He really doesn't understand what's going on. He runs to Judah's room calling his name, but he's not there. So what does he do? What would anyone else do that wants to be so close to someone but can't have them there physically? Well, he of course went to Judah's room and grabbed a shirt of his that he was wearing the previous day and put it on. That little guy would NOT take it off all day long. He wore it non-stop....even during his nap. That's dedication. I love how much he loves his brother. It's incredible and overwhelming. He just can't get enough of him. I'm so thankful that his older brother is such a fine example of what a young man should be for this little guy. And I'm so excited that they love each other sooooo much. It's the sweetest thing.

I love how obvious it is that he's wearing a shirt that's way too big for him here...I love the way it's hanging off of his shoulder.

If you look closely, you can see the little guys "battle wounds" from the other day. Poor thing....

If it aint broke....

oh wait ....you're right ....it IS broken.

And I said aint...what is the world coming to? Anyways.....

Wow...what a day! Broke is a perfect word to describe it, that's for sure! It started out soooo nice! We had a relaxing morning and then we went outside and played with sidewalk chalks (as you'll see below). Afterwards the little guy is riding one of his toys and completely EATS it. He does a faceplant right on the kitchen floor. I have no idea how he managed it b/c (using my keen investigative skills) I determined that he couldn't have just fallen off his toy in the manner that he did and land right on his face. He was definitely doing something crazy. So anyways, I picked him up and he was bleeding all over himself...it was the saddest sight! I panicked, of course. I was SURE he needed stiches. Ends up he didn't, thank goodness. And he is ok now, but let me tell ya......if you thought those were some large luscious lips before, you should see those babies now. Poor little guy looks like he got some serious lip injections. I felt so badly for him! But it doesn't end there for this little guy. Nope. I decided to do some cleaning today and part of that included mopping the entire house. Well...the boys were supposed to be playing in one of their bedrooms while I was doing it, and they were...for a while. That is until I finished mopping. Well, they all come out (my husband as well) walking all over my freshly mopped floor. Well...all except for the little guy...he's RUNNING. Not good. So, of course he slides across it like he's trying to make it across home plate to score the winning point for the tied up all stars baseball tournament that's already in an extra inning. As if his day hasn't been traumatized enough at this point, you know? And of course it doesn't stop there, but I won't keep going for fear that I give the impression I shouldn't be nominated for the mother of the year award! Instead, I'll share some pics of the happy times we had today!!!:) I'll leave you on a good note!!!

Stick figures and silly string........that's what little boys are made of. Well, not really...but you see where I'm going with this!

Here's my oldest...handsome, huh? And I swear he's having fun...he's just all "business" in front of the camera.

Well, most of the time anyways!!! Whatever you do buddy, don't laugh!!!

Things could be worse........

your ARM could be coming out of your HEAD!!!!

Aaaaahhhh.....a day in the life of a child. Ever wonder what's going through a kid's mind when he thinks it's perfectly ok to put Mr. Potatohead's arm on top of his HEAD? Or perhaps he thinks that Mr. P would look best with his lips where his ear should be or his mouth where his nose should be and vice versa. That's what I love about kids...and their toys...and their imaginations. All three know no bounds! Is this sheer obliviousness that my son decorates Mr. P's body like so? Is it art? Is it boredom causing him to think outside the box??? Who knows....but I love the heck out of it! I think he's funny! No, I think he's hilarious. Oh, and by the way...would someone tell Mr. P to keep on "raising the roof"!? It's the coolest dance move I know...still....10 years later.:)

Farrah Fawcett....eat your heart out!!!

Time for a haircut? Now why would you say that? Is it because my little guy gets mistaken for a little girl nonstop? (I love the uncomfortable silence when someone says, "What an adorable little......... *silence* ................ *more silence* ...................... *very uncomfortable at this point silence* .................. .....................child!") Or is it because he's gonna go cross-eyed if his bangs hang in his eyes for one more day. Or perhaps it's because his hair is actually starting to feather out like Farrah Fawcetts infamous hairdo from back in the day. Being a two year old little boy and sporting the Farrah "do" is the coolest. Just ask him....he'll tell ya!:) Well I guess it's time to bite the bullet and do it. As much as I love his hair, his lovely little locks are just too long. And no...this won't be his first haircut! This kid can grow hair like crazy!

But that's not the point of this post...I just HAD to touch on it though...kinda like pointing out the obvious! I just wanted to check in and share some recent pics I did of the little guy today. I was just playing today......and here are some of the results!!!:)

Fire...Works of Art!!!!

Alright, well maybe not works of art, but I thought they were pretty cool.:) I decided I'd try to take some artistic shots of fireworks rather than just a plain ol' picture of fireworks. With super slow shutter speeds and intentional camera movement, I think I got a lot of really cool abstract shots. I'm pretty pleased with the way they came out! Of course I have tons more, but I won't post them all....you can thank me later!!!:) Hope everyone had an awesome 4th!!!!!!!

"I ATE THE WIND!!!!!!"

These are the words that came out of the mouth of a an adorable 2 1/2 year old little boy today (pictured left). He and I were swinging on the porch swing at his house just enjoying the gorgeous day. I commented on the wind and the beautiful breeze in our conversation, and he looked over to me with absolute childhood wonder and excitement and exclaimed, "I ate the wind!!!!!". Those words were so incredibly powerful to me for so many different reasons. They upset me because I didn't have my camera there to document this moment and be able to look back at images when this innocent child was "eating the wind". But they also spoke volumes to me. They reminded me of what it was like to be a child and not have a care in the world. They reminded me that I need to appreciate the little things in life more. And they also reminded me that I need to just slow down and CHILL!!!! Stop stressing and start enjoying....and living....and laughing. Start creating more memories. And start now. It won't be too much longer before this little guy realizes that to some people it might sound silly to say "I ate the wind". But to others......it should be their new motto. So, to everyone reading this.....please.....take time today to stress a little less and live a little more................"EAT THE WIND!!!!!!". And be sure to tell everyone about it afterwards....with a huge childlike grin on your face!!!:)
